And it's long overdue, too! That old one was from 2015! That's like seven years ago now!! Yikes!!!

ANYWAY.

It's been quiet on the Doumei front for some time, but this project is in fact still alive despite the recursive joke becoming more and more recursive by the day. Part of this is because I've been working on other projects (which you can find on my main page) and part of this is because the final dungeon is huge. It's a little over half done right now and the whole game's play time has more than doubled. There's still quite a lot of significant work to do, of course, and god or whatever higher power you believe is out there laughs when you try to set any sort of release date so I won't, but I can at least say: We ain't dead.

HOWEVER: There IS some news to be excited about!! The full version of Doumei is going to feature a few bespoke music tracks... by none other than Zakkujo and RyanAVX! Both of them have been kind, patient, and overall incredible to work with, and the stuff they put out is phenomenal. Ryan actually has a small snippet of one track's WIP version here on his Twitter if you want a sneak peek.

There's a lot of bad shit going on in the world right now, as everyone reading this probably already knows. You may still have to wait a while yet for this game to arrive, but take some time to play games or read books or watch shows to give your mind some rest before you get back to fighting injustice and helping people in need. If you can't take care of yourself, it's a lot harder to take care of others. Stay safe and look after yourselves the best you can out there, y'all.
